Angus Council
With approximately 50 digital media organisations based in the Angus area, Angus Council recognises the growing importance of digital media in the local economy and values Interactive Tayside’s efforts to encourage growth in this sector.
The Council acknowledges digital media and the growth of broadband and other technology convergence as the vehicle to engage with all sectors of the community – urban and remote rural areas – and to this end established Angus Digital Media Centre (ADMC) in 2001.
ADMC is now recognised at the Scottish level as an innovative digital media initiative, focussing on the ‘moving image’. In summer 2004, ADMC secured a 4 year contract from the Scottish Executive in conjuction with Scottish Screen and British Film Institute – under the Future Learning and Teaching (FLAT) programme – to seek, to embed the ‘moving image’ into the heart of the schools curriculum – which if successful could be rolled out across Scotland and beyond.
